Subha Chaudhuri

I am an impressionist artist based in Chicago. Born in Calcutta (India), I was greatly influenced by the artistic and literary traditions of the Bengali culture.
I derive the greatest joy and meaning from exploring my artistic passions, and my art mirrors my approach to life - bold, relentless, and exploratory. I enjoy experimenting with vivid colors, layers and textures, especially in the Impasto style using a palette knife.
I prefer the acrylic medium, and my signature work includes emotive tableaux that explore the mythological, social and cultural influences of the past and the present.
My work has been part of numerous national and international juried shows and exhibitions.
