Susan J. Osborn taught art at The Bishops School in La Jolla for seventeen years. Keeping a studio at home, she works in assemblage, drawing and painting. Her work reveals a love of energy through line, texture and color.
Ms. Osborn’s work is in collections in the United States, Denmark, Japan and Spain. She is listed in Who’s Who of American Women (25th edition.) Among her many awards, she has received a Visual Artists Assistance Award from the State of California, awards at the San Diego Museum of Art, the San Diego Art Institute, the Bonita Museum and the Small Image Show. She is a member of the National Collage Society, Artist Alliance (OMA), San Diego Museum of Art and President of West Coast Drawing.

“As I put things together to make my art, I laugh. The
memories evoked when putting old objects together
can be humorous and surprising. There is something
very special about the process. Something old becomes
new - a reverse metamorphosis like our lives. The parts
that go into a piece have had lives as something else.
Now they are given a second life in a magical way.
The mundane becomes more whimsical!
