Aziz Sydygaliev grew up in one of the most mountainous countries in Central Asia. The landscapes there inspired him a lot. He studied medicine in the post-Soviet period, obtained his medical degree in 2013 and then moved to Moscow to work in a hospital. After one year he decided to move to Bologna to pursue a career as an artist. Aziz is very engaged in contemporary social issues. In 2017 and 2018 he held several small art exhibitions on migration and equality rights in Italy. In 2019 he entered the Ravenna Academy of Fine Arts, where he worked on his technique and development as an artist. In his work he uses a variety of media, despite the fact that in the beginning he was mostly fascinated by oil paintings on canvas. Now he developed his new passion for paper, using different techniques. The colour black takes a central place in his artwork, it inspires him and has a powerful expressionist energy. The central figure in Aziz's works is the body. He studies body language, how to convey drama and movement, static and melancholy using a mixed technique where he focuses on the communication of the body with the environment. He transforms the landscape in a new way using expression and abstraction.
