Takoochy Tkebuchava

Takoochy Tkebuchava is a Georgian-born artist based in New York. From a young age, she has been drawn to abstract and surreal forms—often painting dreamlike female heads floating through vast, unknown universes. While her style has evolved over the years, she continues to explore abstract dimensions filled with floating figures and symbolic objects.

Tamar finds inspiration in the subtle moments of everyday life—particularly in the voices and stories of strangers she encounters while walking through the city. Their differences and unique perspectives spark ideas that often become the heart of her paintings.

Though she built a successful career in pharmaceutical regulatory affairs, Tamar has always returned to painting as a meaningful creative outlet. Entirely self-taught, she developed her skills through online platforms and personal experimentation, never having attended formal art school. She believes that creativity lives in all of us—and that to create is, in itself, a form of art.
