Tamara Friebel

My artistic work holds a reverence for nature and sublime force. Sculpture, 3d prints and still life, captured in artistic photography, "scores of operatic voices dancing on the lens...." My images and sculptures explore, often through still-life gesture, the phrasing of a moment, observing beauty and fragility in nature over time.

My sculptures and still-life photography are like musical compositions to me, and they often serve to inspire a complex form which I use to compose. These artistic works become part of my compositional ouevre, and from them I have composed chamber operas, pieces for piano, chamber works and songs. But they are also artistic objects in their own right.
