My name is Tanya Tur. I am an artist. I was born in Gomel, Belarus (near Chernobyl). I grew up there and when I was 17 years old I moved to Israel alone. All my family stayed in Belarus. It was very hard to live alone in a strange country with different traditional, mentality, language.

My romance with art startedwhen I was 3 years old. I cut holes with scissors following a design of bed liner, painted on wall paper . But my parents did not share my enthusiasm and after few years of torment at home they sent me to art school. There I was happy, and experimented with a lot of types of art. When I was 16 I told my mam that I want to be a fashiondesigner, and she told me that I have to be a doctor like my grandmother and great grandmother. So I run away to Israel. After service I'll tried to go to study at Bezalel (Jerusalem Academy of art and design), but didn’t get in. This was hurtful but I tried again after 6 years and got it.

Today I am an artist (BAart) who deals with different social problems, domestic tension, about relationships and other. I use all types of mediums and technics such as drawing, painting, sculpting, installation, photo, video, sound and more.
