Telmo Mota

Born in November 2nd 1977, at Oporto, Portugal.

In this new post-industrial society never Humanity needed in such a way the art. Of an art that must comfort and capable to provide introspective pleasure and spiritual balance. Of an art that has being the underestimated player of a game that counterbalances the human rationality and its dominant subjects: Economy, Technology and Politics. If these dimensions represented food, then art would be water, and we faster died of thirst than ofhunger.

The communication of broad concepts through art is the main premise of my work.

My objective is to endow sculptures with deep concepts and a unique aesthetic capable to raise the spectator into the spiritual levels of existence. By setting the sculpture in such a way that it is possible to integrate it within the spectator life, art objects can aspire to cohabitate with is owners in order to fulfil its balancing and spiritual purposes. These characteristics would allow art to play an important role in nowadays society.
