Yasin Gabriel

Yasin Gabriel are the middle names of an Artist usually working under his first and surname. He grew up in Europe, with most of his family living in Africa. Together with his mom he lived in a very multicultural neighborhood where there was space for everybody. Especially for those who did not fit in where the rest did. So it’s not surprising that contrast, people, origin, family and identity are usually playing a mayor role in his art.

The “Clouds Series” are the opposite. No people, no confrontation. Many of them were shot, whilst creating other projects. They are building a personal balance to the confrontations in the other works. Or in his own words: “It does not matter what walk of life u come from, what race u think u belong to or who u vote for. If u look up there they are just beautiful, for all of us. Somehow representing the equality that we should achieve. Also they are so majestic, in a way we human beings will never be. Reminding me that I’m not that important!”
