Thomas Glenn is a draftsman and painter who works with mostly traditional mediums such as oils, charcoal and sanguine.
His work is influenced mostly by that of the Old Masters, focusing on form, anatomy and atmosphere, but also adds a contemporary twist in his paintings in the form of bold brush strokes and exposed backgrounds, striking a balance between the refined brush strokes of artworks centuries old and the chaotic nature of modern, abstract painting.
He has been commissioned numerous times in the past, especially for his portraiture.
Thomas gained a Diploma of Visual Art in 2012 at the Southbank Institute of Technology. He then studied and obtained a Bachelors degree of Fine Art at Griffith University in 2015.
Interested in refining his work even further, he then took a trip to Florence, Italy, where he studied the methods of the Baroque and 19th Century painters.
He is of the firm belief that in order for Art to truly move forward it is necessary to go back in time and study from the Masters of the past, and then to combine it with the knowledge and findings of the 20th and 21st Century artists.
