Before moving to the United States in 1983, Tsukasa Kambara lived and worked in Tokyo, Japan as an interior and graphic designer. He now is a resident of Charleston, West Virginia, where he creates artworks inspired by both his native Japanese roots and American cultural aesthetics. His style is also heavily influenced by architectural designs as well as the work of abstract artists such as Jackson Pollock and Mark Rothko. Using these influences, he has developed an individual approach that aims to “portray the principle of chaos and order.”

I studied architecture for a couple of years in Tokyo, Japan at Tokyo Designer Academy. Following that, I developed my own art style and techniques.
