Tommaso Vigna

I am an Italian artist with a mainly musical background. Musical studies influenced my pictorial research, which is grounded on the primacy of simple shapes and allusive symmetries; these levels, with those of colour and texture, contribute to defining a visual polyphony.
I create my artworks as if I were building a labyrinth, but turning its functions on its head: I claim the viewer, after getting lost, quit to search for an escape route and wish to inhabit the work. And since my canvases express a labyrinth, they have a centre to whom the intrepid viewer must consecrate his research.
