Tooba Hameed

My artistic practice involves the experimentation of different mediums, striving to explore the expression that reflects my style and personal reflection. The inspiration for me, comes from the narratives, events and memories that I have experienced which I narrate through abstraction, irregular shapes, marks and layers upon layers that are transparent, visible and hidden within each piece.
The process of my paintings is more important for me than the finished artwork. It becomes a conversation, a dialogue with materials and moments that have shaped me. Using elfi glue as my primary medium along with the oil paints to create texture and marks on the canvas creates a visual narrative, allowing me to communicate my emotions and experiences. Through my art, I want the viewers to consider the persistent relevance of our life events and how they shape who we are.
