Vali Kolotourou

Greek(born in Athens)living and working in Brussels. Vali's work, mainly oil and watercolour paintings, is focused on the human face and body . Her work tries to capture human feeling and truth and it also inquires destination of human being.There is a lot of silence in Vali's work.Recently she started painting still life and landscapes:
The painters who have in fluenced Vali's work are:Emil Nolde for his free, spontaneous and very beautiful watercolors; Oskar Kokoschka for the harmony of his colors behind and around his subjects;Georges Rouault for the way he paints, violently and roughly and his way of recording the misery of opressed and poor people;;Marlène Dumas for the choise of her subjects(notions of identity)and for the power and strength of her paintings; Giorgos Bouzianis(Greek and drawings. dead in 1952) for the transcedance and the ultimate sens of being one can feel in all his paintings Cy Twombly for his inner vision.
