Vasyl Stasiuk (b. 1997, Chernivtsi, Ukraine) is a contemporary painter currently based in Italy. Painting has been his primary focus since the beginning of his artistic path. His practice is grounded in years of studying academic drawing, composition, and color theory, which formed a strong technical foundation for his work.
Stasiuk’s paintings explore atmosphere, color and emotional space. His works often depict vast landscapes, fields, night skies and small human figures, creating quiet narratives about solitude, memory and human presence within nature.
Working mainly with oil on canvas, he builds layered surfaces where color becomes the central language of the image. His experience in various crafts influenced his sensitivity to texture and material, while his partial colorblindness contributes to a distinctive and intuitive approach to color relationships.
Through painting, Stasiuk seeks to create spaces that invite contemplation. Rather than illustrating a story directly, his works leave room for the viewer to enter the landscape and discover their own meaning.
