Veena Advani

I create intricately layered, abstract paintings that explore the themes of relationship, identity and the natural world. It is the evolution of creative career working with New York's most innovative fashion houses. My couture work has appeared on runway shows worldwide and on red carpets from Cannes to Venice to the fabled Academy Awards.

Having achieved every career milestone in New York, I felt the pull of home, family and painting. I returned to Mumbai and began experimenting with embroidery as a textural component to works that are at once elemental and transporting. My beaded landscape works have been sold to private collectors throughout India and the United States.

It gives me such pleasure to extend my decades-long collaboration with these gifted artisans, who have translated my vision to couture embroideries and now to intricately enhanced canvases. These works weave together my passion for classical art and artisan technique, breathing new life into raw metallic beading materials and embroidery work. Together we are telling timeless stories through needle and thread, bead and brush.
