MāRtiņš Virsis

I am Mārtiņš Virsis, and I’ve been painting for a few years now. Initially, this started as a hobby, but, gradually, I’ve now dedicated myself to this art form full-time for the past year, channeling all my energy, time, sleepless nights, and creativity into each piece.

As you can see, my primary focus is on landscapes and portraits, particularly focusing on our place as human beings within the greater nature around us. The inspiration mainly comes from the Impressionists such as Claude Monet or Romanticists like Caspar David Friedrich, the wonderful world of cinema, the vivid colors of the morning sky, and the foggy landscapes at dawn of my homeland – Latvia, Eastern Europe. And with all those pieces in place, I try my best to combine them into a unique artistic vision. Each painting is a new journey for me, an exploration of light, color, and emotion, and with the highest hopes, I wish to take you with me on this journey.
