Wendy Wong

Growing up and living in Hong Kong has been one of my largest influences as an artist. The city’s buildings, man-made structures rising high from the ground and intertwined with nature, create multiple urban layers that are densely packed with inspirational life stories.

The city’s inspirations reflect my favourite motifs: buildings, nature, human figures, and animals (often depicted as human-animal hybrids). My works combine mixed media techniques across interior decorative art, painting, printmaking and sculpture. I particularly enjoy using texture and surface treatments across the different techniques to build up multiple colours, layers and textures in my work.

As an interior decorative artist, I have worked on high profile projects with major hotels, department stores, commercial properties, and private residences. To further explore my own creativity, I also branched out into other media to develop my own motifs and incorporate new designs and techniques back into my interior decorative work
