Rajka Michalska

Rajka Michalska - specializes in painting, drawing, creating installations and short film forms.

A graduate of Painting at the Academy of Fine Arts in Gdańsk. Recipient of the Rector Scholarship for top students.

She completed a two-year residence in the Artists’ Colony in Gdańsk. She is exhibiting at Poland and abroad, including at Armory Artweeks in New York, BWA Wrocław, BWA Bydgoszcz, Willa Bergera in Sopot, Żak Gallery.

 

Her
art is queer, feminist and above all that - engaged. In her works Rajka
Michalska is presenting a daily struggle with mental disorders such as
ADHD, anxiety and deppression. She is raising the issues such as equal
rights for all people (queer people, women, ethnic minorities, immigrants). She is showing the perspective of trans and non-binary people in a caring
and loving way. Her story is about humanity reconnecting with nature and
being a part of it, an element of a greater whole.
