Sally Cinnamon

My Name is Sally, but my alter ego is “Wicked Cinnamon” because as is the way of an artist, we can be many people inside one head!

I am a portrait artist and poet,born in Hastings, East Sussex but I now live 6 miles outside of Chester where I have my art studio.

Recent Work:

I have recently completed a project called “Once a Fusilier” which culminated in my solo exhibition at Her Majesty’s Tower of London.

Privately educated as a child I joined the Royal Air Force on completion of my studies, and worked in Airfield support.

On leaving the armed forces I developed a passion for fine arts and I studied first as a stone carver & sculptor for several years in Dorset which led on to working on many heritage projects.

On moving to Chester I attended Deeside College to undertake a foundation course before moving on to study at Liverpool College of Art and Design.

From there I have developed my own style and techniques to produce my work and I feel that this is an ongoing and organic process.

2015 Solo Exhibition Her Majesties Tower of London; Titled "Once A Fusilier" Timed to coincide with the 100th anniversary of the First World War This poinant exhibition featured portraits of all the fallen fusiliers who had been killed in action since the year 2000 the event was paid for by the British Army.
