Will Arden

With a long-established career as an artist, and under the pseudonym 'Alborozo', an author and illustrator in children’s publishing, I have spent the majority of my career telling stories through images and words.
A visual impairment in one eye has led me to step away from that work, but also opened the door to a new creative path: photography. I now use the camera as I would a canvas; using various 'in camera' methods such as multiple exposures and the technique of 'light painting' a surface on which I can create any image I choose.
Exploring themes of memory, perception, identity and trauma through semi abstract, conceptual images my work is shaped by the same instincts that guided my previous artistic life, a love of narrative and a strong pull toward the cinematic to evoke a sense of contemplation and presence.
