I began my career in ceramics, showing nationally. In 2003 I started working two-dimensionally, exploring watercolor, pastels, acrylic, and finally oil (currently, I work exclusively in oil). For several years i worked somewhat experimentally with collage, and abstract compositions. My current work is representational, with a focus on still life. Most recently, I have been drawing with charcoal and chalk, but intend to return to oil painting which is my real love.
I am largely self taught, although I have taken many classes throughout the years. Currently, I am studying at the David Hardy Atelier of Classical Drawing and Painting.
I have been exhibiting since 2003. Most recently (2016), my work was shown at the City of Berkeley Planning and Development Department, in the "Does Color Matter" show. Throughout the years I have exhibited at Expressions Gallery, Sebastopol Center for the Arts, the Art Museum of Los Gatos (where I won the 2nd place award for abstract painting), Artisans Gallery, the Frank Bette Center for the Arts, and the Sebastopol Center for the Arts. I was selected for the Alameda County Art Commission's Artwork Purchase Program.
