Ingrid Nuss is an artist residing in Wilderness, the ‘heart of the Garden Route’, South Africa. She attended the Jack Meyer Art centre in her younger years then graduated with an honors degree at the Michaelis School of Fine Art in Cape Town (UCT).
After her studies she travelled extensively and worked for one of the largest privately owned art auctioneering companies abroad. Her hands-on experience with dealing in high art taught her a great deal about the context of historical and contemporary art, whilst exploring much of the globe and visiting some of the largest art museums in the world.
Inspired by the immense natural beauty of her surroundings, she has used the local environment as her predominant inspiration in her art. She has experimented in various styles and mediums for her own growth and progress, which resulted in her innermost expressive style “Universurrealism”. In Ingrid’s artist statement she explains “the most important part of my work is to enable a feeling, which cannot be communicated easily in words, as it connects from within.”
Artist Statement: Universurrealism
My work is a visual exploration of the combination of science, nature and spirituality, like the universe in which we exist.
