Sculptor

Accomplished and experienced practitioner in sculpture and teaching. For me, clay is the most fundamental and haptic material, wonderfully malleable to sculpt and form. It contains an energy which is transformed through the alchemy of firing, allowing the magic of my ideas to become solid. I enjoy the physical act of making and am currently creating a body of work in contrasting clay bodies, experimenting with additions to create different series.
I have been immersed in Fine Art throughout my career as an artist and maker as well as working for galleries in Edinburgh and Sydney as a freelance art consultant. Whilst living in Australia, I was a member of the New South Wales Sculptors Society.
Extensive theoretical knowledge and practical ability in a wide range of materials including bronze, silver, copper, enamel, glass, now specialising in clay.
