Korean sculptor working between South Korea and France, creating welded metal works that explore the dual meaning of the Korean word “mal” (horse/speech). Through abstracted equine forms and fragmented lines of language, Park reflects on communication, miscommunication, and the complexities of human relationships. Balancing raw industrial processes with a sensitive sense of gesture and rhythm, the artist creates sculptures that feel intimate, relational, and quietly poetic.
I was educated in France from my teens and studied Spatial Design at École Boulle in Paris. I later trained in metal fabrication and welding in both South Korea and France, combining formal design with hands-on workshop experience.
Since 2017, Yea ji Park has presented more than ten solo exhibitions and over forty group shows in galleries, and art spaces across South Korea. Her work has also been featured in more than fifteen art fairs in Asia, including the Affordable Art Fair Singapore, Harbor Art Fair in Hong Kong, Tianhe Art Museum in China, and in Seoul and Busan. In 2024, Park’s sculptures were shown in France at Maison d’art Laurence Pustetto in Libourne and an other Art Galerie in Nice, expanding her practice to a wider international audience.
