In my work, I usually try to create aesthetic images by bringing together various aspects of our daily life and abstract imagery. For me, the way human brain -and nature at large- works is a collage in itself and I try to reflect this into my art: Creating harmony with components that would otherwise feel irrelevant. Starting with an end-image in mind, I combine and play with different photographs, images and excerpts entirely on a digital platform; and within this process find myself exploring my inner thoughts and subconscious.
Born in Istanbul, Turkey in 1984, Yoel Levi had his highschool education at the American Robert College in Istanbul. Later, torn between art and law, he chose to pursue a legal career and studied at Koc University Law School in Turkey. He then moved to the USA, completing a graduate program at Georgetown University Law Center, Masters at Law at University of Pennsylvania Law School and Law and Business degree at the Wharton School of Business.
Failing to silence his artistic drive even after becoming a practicing lawyer in Turkey and the USA, Yoel Levi presently continues working on photography, digital art and collage and developing his art in his spare time.
