Yousri Elfattah

I was born and raised in Egypt and lived many years in Europe and Morocco and now live in the U.S.A. My art is about depiction of feelings and moods through painting. My main subject matter is people. I use angular and curved lines to construct the image symbolically. I use colors to create impression visually and expression emotionally.

In my formal training as aeronautical engineer I had courses on the mathematical subject of descriptive geometry where I learned about perspectives and projections. In my graduate Ph.D. studies in computer and information sciences I learned about the riddles of computer vision and optical illusions. I then began uncharted exploration on my own taking classes on water color and painting at University of California Irvine (UCI) and at Santa Monica College.
