Gabriel Zea

I’ve been attempting to understand what is to work within the framework of the current economic system, in which our labor produces not only physical goods but also big amounts of information throughout digital apparatuses. I’m interested in researching the conditions of the time invested in productive labor, the alienation, and the bureaucracy to which all workers are forced to live today. I surf these themes from the perspective of an alienated aesthetic experiences producer. There is no specific medium that characterizes my practice, nevertheless, recently I’m interested in video, installation, and performance as vehicles to explore in my work. I’m not concerned about expressing absolute truths with my work, I prefer to generate questions about the links between the entities that contribute to shaping the conditions of different kinds of labor we perform in our daily life.
