Elena Zima

Elena was born in Moscow.

Elena works in classical realism and magical realism.
Elena is using magical realism to show the secret life of nature and objects.

Every painting has an additional artistic layer: Different reality, other life of objects and their history. Just like in childhood, looking at clouds, we saw different shapes. The same way the shadows in the foliage of the trees could fold into a shape of a person.

Her paintings can be perceived at different levels: as simply realistic or you can read it like a book, looking for and examining images that tell the whole story. In addition, each viewer sees his story that resonates in his subconscious.
