Based on my vision of Japanese and Chinese calligraphy, I wanted to go back to the most primitive expression of the ideogram. So, I imagined that before the ideogram, there was the sign. But not just any sign. A magical sign, organic, alive, in perpetual change. An elusive sign. A sign attached to a memory, to an emotion,
to the memory of an emotion. An intense, fragile and ephemeral sign.
And it happens that only the trace left by this sign is accessible. It is the trace of this sign, the imprint it leaves before evaporating that I try to draw and paint.
