Lana Greben

Lana Greben, MFA, studied to be an artist/researcher, but was also a corporate lawyer.
Her art is based on the interest for performative aspects of sartorial practices.
Her transdisciplinary artistic work extends the parameters of traditional portraiture and observes dress and fashion as performed at both individual and collective levels. She creates the visual propositions becoming a grammar on their own, gaining in the process the status of language with its own typologies and rules. As a highly visual practice in the image-saturated world, the fashion is viewed as a tool providing a cultural re-articulation of hegemonies and authoritarian tendencies, faced daily.
