Petra Dahmen

I have been working as an artist since 1988, specializing in abstract painting and photography.

Since then I have exhibited my paintings and photographs in solo and group exhibitions at home and abroad, and I have received many scholarships and prizes.

Based on my experience, I was a jury member for the ArtPrice of Mallorca in 2022 and 2023.

My artistic work is about perception, about sensitizing the senses. I am not interested in the representation of objects. I am interested in the surface texture, structures and colors of nature.

In the process of perception, the viewer experiences his own active role in the respective mediation between imagination and direct vision. He can mentally complete incomplete forms, can discover the self-similarities in nature.
