Theo Chronis

Theo Chronis (b. 1981) is a UK-based painter and digital artist, originally from Athens, Greece. He trained at the Athens School of Fine Arts (2001 - 2006) under contemporary Greek artist Tassos Christakis, earning his diploma with high honours in Contemporary Painting, after years of academic drawing study under sculptor Nikos Stefos and painter Nikolas Christoforakis.
In 2011 he founded the art studio ZographiGR in Athens, teaching fine art and exhibiting throughout the Greek financial crisis, before relocating permanently to the UK in 2015. Working professionally as a 3D artist to support his practice, his output increasingly shifted toward the digital realm, leading him to join the NFT art movement in 2021. This was a turning point that connected him with a global community of artists, curators, and collectors.
Chronis works across painting, drawing, and digital/3D media, often combining oils, pastels, and wet media with digital brushwork, glitch effects, and AI-assisted processes. His most recognised body of work, Qualia, is a series of abstract biomorphic paintings exploring cognition, perception, and the philosophy of mimesis: images that hover in a state of becoming, open to multiple readings rather than fixed meaning.
