I started as a photographer when in my mid-teens I was hired as a street photographer at a holiday resort in England. Later, under Victor Pasmore and Richard Hamilton, I studied Fine Arts at the University of Durham. In Canada, I am Professor Emeritus at the University of Regina and was formerly Adjunct Professor at New York University. Currently I am Artist in Residence at the Centre for Studies in Religion and Society, University of Victoria.

Educated at King’s College, University of Durham under Victor Pasmore and Richard Hamilton. Postgraduate studies at the London Film School U.K. with Mike Leigh and Charles Crichton.
