Alexandr Mikushev

Born in 1957 in the family of geologists.
Since 1979 to 1991-worked in advertising business.
Since 1991 has been a full time artist.

Has participated in 30 exhibitions organized by the Ministry of Art and Culture of Ukraine.

1992 - "˜In search of Absolute' -at Ukrainian House, Kiev, Ukraine.
1994 - "˜Art and Graphics' - at Ancient Kiev, Ukraine.
1997 - "˜Postcards from home' - Slavutych, Ukraine.
2002 - Personal Exhibition organized at Foundation of Honchar-Gloss, Kiev, Ukraine.
2006 - "Fantasy worlds" Eurocon 2006 in Kiev, Ukraine.

Since 2008 -member of Kiev Artists and Book Illustrators Union.

Mikushev is committed to an expressive art of profound emotion and universal themes, shaped by the legacy of Surrealism and Abstract Expressionism.

Alexandr evaded the influence of Soviet official art school. He accuses official art school (intolerant of any talent) of multiplying dullness. Destroying misteryof criation, the officialdom was producing instead either dullards, or political hacks. That is why any discovery the painter made in art ,was made by himself.
