  6. Bogdan Zareba Pollack has been saying that he was doing painting
    for the atomic bomb age,
so the colours should be as strong and
as explosive as atomic bomb and he has achieved it.

  9. Bird Lovegod Abstract expressionism was a Cultural Cold War weapon. Amazing heritage, CIA and MOMA promoted it into Europe, and took the centre of art from Europe, where it had been for a thousand years or more, to America, where it still is. Look what came after Abstract Expressionism... Pop Art, a celebration of American culture... The CIA are the greatest art patrons since the Catholic Church 500 years previously. Social sculpting at its finest.

  10. kate williamson I love Jackson Pollock, my paintings are painted on the horizontal often letting the paint dot, squiggle and splatter onto my large canvases. He was so original.

  11. Nicholas Chistiakov Well Bird, who's on top can freely sculpt the others. Same way Saatchi and British press did sculpted YBA and Britain propelled them into art history. The others can only regret that their art is no one's weapon. Wasn't Michelangelo's art greatest propaganda of his time - YES it was.

Hi Rebecca thank you so much for including me this amazing list of art inspired by one of the greatest American in artist history. I have always been deeply inspired by Jackson Pollock and know he will always be a huge inspiration in my work. The painting you choose is part of a of a diptych "one nation" I only wish I would have been able to post the two together as they should be seen as lines crossing, paint flowing and dancing in harmony. As the intention the "One Nation"

  37. Andrew Stewart Jamieson The story of Pollack was tragic, to die in such circumstance and deprive the world or an original. So good to see that his life short though it was has continued to inspire so many artists.
