About the Artist

Remigiusz Dulko

Poland

I was born in 1955 in Lidzbark Warmiński, Poland. I studied Sculpture at the Academy of Fine Arts in Kraków and graduated with distinction in 1979.

For more than four decades I have been working with bronze. I live and work in Oświęcim, where I create my sculptures using the traditional lost-wax casting method.

I am interested in people, their relationships, spirituality, sensuality and everyday life. Many of my works explore the dialogue between the sacred and the profane.

Bronze has been my language for more than forty years.

I create figurative sculptures inspired by people, memory, relationships and spirituality. My work often moves between the sacred and the everyday, between intimacy and symbolism.

Every sculpture begins as an idea, but its final form is shaped by the material itself. I believe that art is not only imagination. It is also patience, craftsmanship and respect for the possibilities and limits of matter.
