Gillian Ellis

I am a British contemporary artist whose work is informed by collecting, science, myth, nature and curiosity.
I make detailed drawings that appear to be etchings or engravings but are actually executed using a biro.
Previous work includes a life sized drawing of a Cabinet of Curiosities which was selected for the 2016 Columbia Threadneedle Prize at the Mall Galleries, London and Palazzo Strozzi, Florence,and a banner displayed in the Sedgwick Museum of Earth Sciences, Cambridge.
I hold a First Class BA (Hons) Degree in Textile Design from Central Saint Martins College of Art and Design, London and am currently studying for a Masters in Fine Art Printmaking at Cambridge School of Art.
I teach part time in Life Drawing, Textiles and Visual Studies at A Level.

Currently taking a Masters in Fine Art/ Printmaking at Cambridge School of Art.

First Class Honors Degree in Textile Design from
