Moving ahead at last, submitted pieces for 2 online exhibits during quarantine. And now learning how to translate images to fabric.Thank you, Stitch Club.
Focus had been on moving from Austin to Cottonwood to Kalamazoo. Love my vintage 1955 house, and updated everything. Now to continue making new Art.
I grew up with a lot of freedom and outdoors to run around in, just up the road in Grand Rapids, Michigan. My grandparents were immigrants so I grew up with an outsider's eyes.
I'm interested in making art about life. When I think about possible images I think in terms of metaphors, mini-narratives.
Started drawing as soon as I could hold a crayon; studied painting in high school and then drawing and composition in college before falling in love and moving to Hawaii. Went back to college for a fine arts degree (University of Texas-Austin). Loved Austin and all the talent/creative energy. Moved (2016) to northern Arizona for the amazing landscapes, fresh air, open spaces. Not enough people up there for me, so checked in on my home State, Michigan.
see Events (above) for updates.
