Aimee Joaristi

My work disarticulates the traditional composition and discovers its system of repetitions, this is my "fractal proposal", a term I borrow from the mathematician Benoît Mandelbrot, an irregular fragmentation which bends up at different scales. Most engimatic mathematic images are generated by what is known as dynamic systems in the plane, which can result in the art pieces I propose. Fractals are geometric structures that combine irregularity and structure simultaneously, suggesting a new way to shape our perception of the world, or even exposing the repeated aesthetic assessments of institutional art, that vary over time but remain within the same structural propositions.
