Philippa Kuligowski

I am a visual artist, based in Glasgow working with experimental film, sound & collage. My practice explores deconstruction and reconstruction.

I am interested in contemporary culture and it’s relationship with the archaic past and I strive to construct imagery which distorts but also unites the two. I attempt to explore the parallels between modern-day perceptions and our antecedent nostalgias as well as the prevalence of nature and landscape running through both. Working primarily with collage and film, shifting forms warp our sense of reality in a way which engages gesture, image sequence, material affect, and displaced narrative.
