Independent Artists

Independent Artists was born in September 2013 as the operational arm of the Dario Mellone Museum. An important line of investigation of the group is based on humanistic themes in connection with the technological contemporaneity. Several artists have treated the man who acts in interaction with the space, the structures and the questions that surround him. Independent Artists intends to collect and present a selection of artists animated by the same spirit of independence and profound research that characterized the work of Dario Mellone. Thus works are presented that deal with man in dialogue with the city, technology, environment and automation up to the informal works that reflect biomorphism and mutation in a polymorphic system of artistic representation that always has in the background anthropological research. Since December 2016 the group has become a Cultural Promotion Association and operates in total autonomy. Since December 2017 Independent Artists, following an agreement with the Municipality of Busto Garolfo, establishes its venue in the exhibition spaces of the seventeenth-century Villa Brentano.
