Ulrich Caster Adimou

Caster was born in 1986 in Benin; he was raised by his Father and Grandparent due to the unexpected passing of his birth Mother. Caster's a young artist of special talent. With no formal artistic training, he has managed to depict palpable imagery from his memory with honesty and clarity. His dynamic drawings and paintings are executed with flourish and verve. In the midst of a creative cycle of self-discovery, a world of youthful exuberance has emerged. Combining finesse with delicate energy, his paintings often reveal his journey into an inspired fantasy world based on his former home in Benin and Togo (West Africa). “Casters surprises and delights his audience by superimposing academic rules with colorful imagination. Thus, his "Artistique Main Noir" trademark or “nom de plume” which is French for Black Hand bringing a liveliness and bold originality that is seductive and even exotic to our frequently jaded kind of self-portrait, discovering a renaissance of images from within and opening up visual emotions for us." The media that I use are oil and acrylic. Acrylic is the medium I use most often. The things I like doing most are drawing, painting. I also love to listen to music – all kinds of music, most French music.
Creating "That Fine Feeling" is my goal for every painting by Ulrich Caster Adimou. It is made visible through the use of my colour or colors (sometimes bold, other times muted but always vibrant); also geometric shapes because I want my paintings to be a combination of organic shapes, perspectives and geometry drowned into colorful baths. That's why I makes my own interpretation of nature and human bodies, mixing shapes and color to create surreal art. by using artistic tapes triggered by realism from my imagination.
