About Angeline Kyba

Angeline Kyba was born in Le Pas,Manitoba, Canada. Always a seeker of a people, a place and a home, Kyba has found in Mexico a people who embraced her, a place to paint and a home. Angie's work was accepted in to the prestigious Quinta Bienal de Monterrey, her portrait of Carmen has been used by The National Geographic and her work has been used by The University of California Press and resides in The National Gallery of Canada and The National Film Board of Canada and collected world wide. Kyba lives and paints in studios in Canada and Mexico and travels extensively.

Education

Kyba received her Fine Arts degree from York University, Toronto, Canada, having previously studied in California. Kyba did subsequent study in printmaking at Atelier Michel Casse in Paris. She was awarded the Heinz Jordon prize for excellence at her graduation at York University. Kyba is also an R.N., a registered nurse, now retires from this field.

Kyba’s next one woman show is Thursday, February 6, 2020 at her studio, Angeline Kyba Studio, Cuauhtémoc 635, Puerto Vallarta, Jalisco, Mexico
I will be travelling the month of December 2019 and work will not be available until January 2020.

Exhibitions

Numerous exhibitions and yearly one woman shows.

The prestigious Quinta Bienal de Monterrey, Mexico featured Kybas painting Miriam Reclining and also published it in their book Quinta Bienal Monterrey Fensa in October 2001.

The National Geographic has begun their second printing in the educational division using Kyba's portrait of Carmen.

The Museum of Brandford England has exhibited and purchased her print Kiss Me.

The Art Gallery of Manitoba has also exhibited and own her etching Louis Riel.
