Mick Davidson

Job title: artist-fotografer. Medium: light and pixels.
Born 1958, lived all over southern/eastern England, travelled in Europe, Thailand and all over Latin America. Lived in Belgium, Spain and Gibraltar. Now living in the Netherlands.

Inspirations: Picasso, Bach, Phillip Glass, Tom Waits, Marc Bolan, Surrealism, people who strive to break the rules in creativity, AE Poe, Laurie Lee, Vicente Amigo, Paco de Lucia, FG Lorca, Borges, mountains, the sea, space, very small things, clouds, the colour blue, silence and loud music, Zen Flesh, Zen Bones.
My current main theme is self portraits. This is because it offers a challenge to my creativity as a photographer and to my skills in the digital darkroom. Also, by taking pictures of me, I can butcher them as much as I like, not many people would want that, and I'm cheap and always available. Another part of the ethos is that a pic has to be taken every day, no matter how bad the light or short of time I am, and by hand: almost all these pics here have been taken with me holding the camera.
I intend to put up a new photo at least every couple of days, if not every day for the rest of the year.

Won the Senior Art prize at secondary school for being a conveyor belt. Studied journalism in Portsmouth. Studied Multimedia in Bedvoid, won the Outstanding Achievement award for not leaving after two months.,
