Francisca Prieto’s work is fundamentally three-dimensional, profound and analytical, conceptually as well as technically. Her work has encompassed a diverse range of materials, prioritising those charged with humanity and history. The capacity of creation to distil and capture a sense, together with applied mathematics is paramount to all her work, which is constantly evolving.
Francisca Prieto was born in Chile, where she trained and worked as a graphic designer. In 2001 she moved to London to study for an MA at Central Saint Martins, where she continues to live and work. Francisca’s work is exhibited widely, in solo and group exhibitions in London and abroad, as well as in international art fairs such as Pinta London and the Venice Biennale (2017). Her work is part of private and public collections worldwide, including the British Library, Tate Gallery and Victoria & Albert Museum Library. Francisca’s work can also be found in institutions such as the board room of Schroders' global headquarters, England, and hotels such as The Gleneagles, Scotland.
