Hans Baumgartner

born 1957 in Munich/Germany, lives and works in Bad Griesbach near Passau/Germany as freelance artistWorking with glass, changing it by cutting and engraving, means no less than working with light.The optical properties of glass such as transparency, refraction, the diffusion of colour, are therefore most important for my work. The art of working with glass enables me to transform a piece of raw glass into a living object that confers with its beholder. Basically, making use of a skill, of the ability to cut glass, I simply realize my ideas, and thus express myself in a very personal way.
