Henny Acloque

Featured in the recent Thames and Hudson publication of 100 painters of Tomorrow. Henny Acloque has had solo shows in London and Liverpool , and shown in numerous group shows. Her work draws on historical landscapes and portraits , often using personal and public collections as source material, from statues to postcards, Tarot and cigarette cards to paintings, found photographs and auction catalogues. She aims to simultaneously reveal and mask the subjects she refers to, which are never truly exposed.
