Jeffrey King

As a great admirer of the impressionists such as Renoir, Van Gogh and Lautrec, and abstract expressionists like Kline and Rothko I set out to start making my own art and let it speak for me. I am inspired by my surroundings in Palm Springs, California and it's love of architecture and everything modern. Although I had a great love of art, I was not applying myself enough until I had a subdural hematoma that in essence changed my brain by pushing it to one side. After a brain surgery everything did not go exactly back in place and I was changed forever. By moving to Palm Springs and being immersed in creative energy, my mind and hands went to work creating and applying themselves and I now love being a part of the creative process. I love painting new forms and speaking through my work. My work focuses on texture, abstract forms and color in compositions. My works are comprised of mixed media and acrylic paint, which are then constructed to form abstract expressionistic forms in my paintings. Real, complex, raw and eye pleasing my paintings all tell different stories about life and love.

I have a Baccalaureate Arts degree from California State University, Long Beach. I majored in visual media. Being visual by nature I had always planned on being a cinematographer.
