I am orginally from Long Island in New York and moved up into the paradise that is the Catskill Mountains about 200 miles north of the city. I became serious about art while living in a small town in Schoharie County - Middleburg. This was a painter's paradise with all of the old barns and farmhouses and landscape scenes and small towns one could possibly want for inspiration. I moved to the west coast of Florida in 1999 and have learned to be inspired by the tropics, but it never became home for my painter's muse. Today I live in a rural town in southern Pennsylvania and feel as though I am picking up where I left off 9 years ago.I have been working with impressionistic landscapes in watercolor for quite some time now, but have recently made a shift toward more expressionistic art in acrylics. There have been many inspirations for me over the years, and in particular Fairfield Porter, Andrew Wyeth, J.S. Sargeant, John Pike, the French Impressionists, and more recently William Lawrence, Frank Webb, Charles Reid, Andrew Movali, and many others.
