Kristin Holm Dybvig

My work transforms the raw energy of nature into luminous fields of memory, inviting a universal connection between the viewer and the earth. Rooted in the dramatic landscapes of Norway yet speaking a global language of emotion, I use soft pastels to create a "veil of forgetting", stripping away literal details to reveal the organic rhythm of water, light, and shadow.

These are not depictions of specific places, but emotional environments where the physical world meets inner perception. By removing all human traces, my paintings envision a nature that exists independently of us, serving as a quiet call for stewardship and respect in a changing world. I invite the international viewer to step into this space, to bypass the intellect, and to find their own memories reflected in the pure poetry of color.
